Lucas Gabriel Faces Undefeated Magomed Magomedov at Lumpinee with Title Shot in Sight

Just hours after Christian Lee vs. Tye Ruotolo, Lumpinee will host another fight that impacts the lightweight division. Brazilian Lucas Gabriel headlines ONE Fight Night 49 against debutant Magomed "Muhammad" Magomedov. The event takes place on Friday (6) during prime time in the U.S., which translates to Saturday (7) in Bangkok, with the first fight starting at 9 a.m. In Thailand, channel 7HD will broadcast from 10 a.m.

At 26 years old, Gabriel holds a record of 11-1 (1 no contest) and remains undefeated in ONE. During his tenure, he submitted Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov and, in June at ONE Fight Night 44, defeated former lightweight champion Ok Rae Yoon. A black belt in jiu-jitsu with heavy hands, Gabriel trains in Phuket. He shared his ambition with MMA Sucka: "My biggest goal is to become a world champion and leave my mark on the sport."

The original opponent was Alibeg Rasulov, who withdrew from the card due to injury. Stepping in at the last minute is Magomedov, born in Dagestan, who is undefeated in 15 fights with five consecutive finishes: three TKOs and two rear-naked chokes. This presents a tough test right out of the gate, with the title looming ahead. A victory could place Gabriel in line for the championship that Lee defends on the same day.

The card features three more MMA bouts: Lee Seung Cheol vs. Nazareth Lalthazuala at strawweight; Vick Souza vs. Magdalena Czaban at atomweight; and Kalandar Tabarov vs. Ilmadi Israilov at bantamweight. Additionally, grapplers Victor Hugo and Devhonte Johnson will make their ONE debuts in a submission grappling match with no weight limit.
